Granit is pleased to have gained planning permission in Kingston for a contemporary addition to an Victorian property, located in <\/span>Kingston Borough Council<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Our client’s brief was to look at the potential for the house, providing more contemporary living space for a family and guests as well as providing a refresh to the internal decor. The existing house has the kitchen at the front of the house, which benefits from the south facing front.<\/p>\n

The new configuration creates a larger kitchen, dining\u00a0 and living space to the rear. Stepped in plan, and with a dual pitched roof, the extension provides an interesting internal space, with large rear glazing framing the garden and maximising the daylight, and sunlight opportunities. A top clerestory grabs any late afternoon sun. We are looking at a simple material palate of brick, and timber. We are progressing the post planning stages, with a view to work starting on-site later in the year.<\/span><\/p>\n
